Master Your Slides

One way to create a uniform presentation is to apply your settings to the “Master Slide” to maintain a consistent look throughout the presentation.  You also can set your default theme to the same for every presentation, and to even load upon opening. Use this tip if you are required to use a similar design for many presentations:

• Open a new, blank PowerPoint presentation, or open a favorite one that has most of the options already formatted to your liking.

• Change the file type to PowerPoint Template (*.potx for 2007)

• In the Filename: text box, type blank.• Make any changes you want to this new blank presentation template

• Save the file when you are happy with the results.

The next time you open PowerPoint 2007, you will see your template and you are ready to start adding your content.

Getting the Best View of Your Data

Do you use Excel to maintain your client or member or information? Has your database grown to require more complex data relationships? Even small teams analyze enough data to warrant a database.  How you manage your records can be the difference between losing control and managing effectively.

There is no magic number of data entries, but large datasets are easier to manage in a database. If you constantly revise your spreadsheet to search for or combine data, you have reached a point where a database will provide you with faster queries, and a better look at your data.  Relational databases make data access faster, and reduce the amount of duplicate data entry and errors.
