TIPS AND TRICKS
Find Your Access Keys in Office 2007!
If you prefer keystroke commands to the mouse, MS Office 2007 includes a feature called Access Keys that will come in very handy! Regardless of which Office application you use, follow these steps to see your KeyTips and use keystroke commands:
- Press and release the ALT key. This displays the KeyTips command keys over each feature currently available in your Ribbon view.
- Press the corresponding letter shown by the KeyTip of the feature you want to use. As an example, press N after you have pressed and released the ALT key: this is the letter for the Insert command.
- Depending on the letter pressed, you will notice the command implemented or you will be shown additional KeyTips. For example, if you pressed N after the ALT key and you were currently at your Ribbon’s Home tab, you will see the Insert tab and the related Key Tips for that group.
- Keep pressing letters shown by Key Tips until you see the specific command you want to use.
You can always hide KeyTips and cancel the action you are taking before it is implemented by pressing and releasing the ALT key.
