PowerPoint 2003 Commands in 2007

Are you PowerPoint savvy but can’t find the commands you know and love in PowerPoint 2007? Here are some tips to locate them:

Open PowerPoint 2007 and left-click on Help (question mark icon) at the Ribbon’s right end.
Select Getting Help. Select Reference: Locations of PowerPoint 2003 commands in PowerPoint 2007. Scroll to the bottom of the topic and click the Ribbon Mapping Workbook link under New Locations of Familiar Commands.
Display the Customize page of the PowerPoint Options window and click on Commands Not in the Ribbon in the Choose Command From list. This displays the commands available in Power Point 2007, currently not on the Ribbon.

Now you can locate all your favorite PowerPoint commands from previous versions! Try and add your favorites to the Quick Access Toolbar by clicking Customize Access Toolbar and selecting More Commands!

How Do You Do It?

Are you ready to adopt a Content Management System (CMS) for your organization? Use this list as a guide to determine what kind of CMS solution your organization needs:

What is the shelf life of your site’s content? What site information is constant and which needs frequent updates? Some systems allow for automated content posting and expiration based on start and end dates.
What user roles does your site need? Who will have authority to publish and who will have authority only to write articles? A CMS with different permissions can be helpful.
What is your workflow process? What steps does your organization follow to create, edit, approve, and post content for and on the site? It is important to determine this process to learn which CMS supports it.

Using a CMS will allow you to post relevant information quickly, will reduce reliance on your webmaster, and will save you money. Use these guidelines to help you choose the right system for you.
