Sharing Files Across Excel Versions

Migrating to Excel 2007 offers some great benefits. Take care and make sure to prepare your files so they can be shared with users of earlier versions of Excel. Here is how to provide access for all:

Prepare the File Format. Excel 2007 uses an Open XML format that previous versions can’t open. Click the Microsoft Office Button and select Save As to save files for previous versions.
Consider Conditional Formatting Features. Use cell formatting that previous versions can apply:

Earlier versions are limited to 3 conditions per cell.
Avoid data bars, color scales, and icon sets.
Apply formatting only to adjacent cell ranges—Excel 2007 does non-contiguous formatting, but earlier versions don’t support it.

Use Compatibility Mode. This turns off incompatible features in Excel 2007.

Enjoy the features of Excel 2007 and still collaborate with users of previous versions!

Publish Your Events with Ease!

Would you like an easy way to promote your organization’s conferences, programs and meetings on your website? Online Event Calendars are a great way to publish events, attract viewers and simplify adding and editing event listings.

A well designed event calendar makes it easy for anyone to list your events on the site. No programming expertise is needed. Log on to the secure section of your event calendar, click “Add Event” and type in the event’s details. Click “Publish” and see your results immediately! Add a keyword search, filters and export capabilities to MS Outlook.

Event calendars can be built as part of your site or you can purchase a license to use an event calendar supplied and hosted by a third party provider. Your audience will not know the difference as long as you design the site correctly. Selecting which option to deploy will depend on your budget and unique requirements.

Devote space on your home page to your upcoming events, keep your listings up to date, and watch the increase in site visitors. Make your descriptions exciting, allow visitors to register and automate many internal registration tasks.
